TERESA GANCEDO
  Painter (León, 1937)

He studied at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de San Jorge, Barcelona and obtained the medal of the Faculty in Drawing. He held his first exhibition in 1972 in the Sala Provincia de León directed by the poet Antonio Gamoneda.

In 1980 she was selected by the Guggenheim in New York for the exhibition 'New Images from Spain', becoming the first Spanish woman to have a work in this prestigious museum.

In 1982 she began her career as a tenured professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona. And that same year he wrote his thesis on Religious Painting at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona.

In 1986 she was selected to participate in Arco Madrid. He has made more than 50 individual exhibitions and 70 group exhibitions in Spain, Europe and America.

In 2018 the MUSAC dedicated a retrospective to him that reviews his entire artistic career.
